The options for a consumer looking into electric transportation are growing by the day. Chevrolet creates the Volt, Nissan offers the Leaf and Toyota is still cranking out Prius after Prius. Now, electric vehicles have been taken to the next level by the Tesla Model S, that is not only a perfect fit for modern consumers but is quoted by Motor Trend as being “By any measure a truly remarkable automobile”
Tesla Motors recently won the 2013 Motor Trend Car of the Year award for their Model S, a four door sedan that is designed and built in California. The production of the Model S will ramp up to 20,000 units in 201—a significant increase in production from their 2012 production of 3,000 units. The Model S has a base price of $52,400 (including a $7,500 Federal Tax Credit) and comes with a 40-kWh battery with a range of 160 miles on a single charge.
Right now you can reserve a Model S for a mere $5,000 but if you are looking to get into their Model S Signature…sorry, they have already sold out. Look for a Model S to enter the Limousine Livery fleet in late 2013.
